The lake is strategically neighbor to some of the most prominent areas in the country like Granada, Ometepe Island and Zapatera Island, making it nice for travelers to hop from one destination to the others.

 

LeonHistorically speaking, Spanish-colonized Nicaragua features incredibly interesting colonial cities. The capital city Managua, the mural city León, the oldest city Granada, and the city of flowers Masaya are just a few of Nicaragua's important places that display thick colonial influences, especially in their buildings. Further east where the Spanish conquerors did not rule, the British influence combined with Caribbean and African cultures present an absolutely different feel.

 

Even the beaches are fascinating. Some of the Pacific beaches are ideal for surfing while the Caribbean beaches offer a quieter way of tropical vacation. The first present vigorous waves and the latter hardly a splash. Caribbean beaches are famous for their crystal clear water and awesome undersea, giving a perfect choice for the underwater dwellers to explore their marine life.

 

Last but not least, one will not make a great trip from the destinations alone. The acceptance and welcome from the locals are just as vital.
