When to go: Central and northern Nicaragua have less offshore wind than southern Nicaragua, due to the larger distance from Lake Nicaragua. Upside: Offshore winds never get too strong, hardly ever upwelling and the water stays warm year round. Downside: In the winter (May to October), seabreezes often kick in the afternoon.

March-Aug : Big swells with offshore wind
Sept-Oct: Big swells. More likely to get onshore wind
